Business with my mom

While being pregnant, I started watching a lot of cooking shows. My two favorites are Cake Boss and anything with Gordon Ramsay. Watching the Cake Boss led to other shows like Cupcake Girls, all the the wedding channel wedding cake shows and the list goes on. After my son was born in July, my obsession grew as did my love for baking. Buddy Valastro from Cake Boss was actually in town one weekend and I met him at a book sigining at Sam's Club. It was so much fun and he is seriously the nicest person I have ever met. Our picture was taken with him holding jack, and my mom and I standing next to him. He then told me about his wife being pregnant and how she was due in February. As we waiting in line we watched him greet everyone as if they were family. He listened to each person's stories and posed for pictures and not once did he seem irritated or ready to be done. I continued watching shows and taking notes, coming up with my own ideas and sharing this all with my mom. Eventually I decided I wanted to start my own business, and after much thought, decided I wanted to specialize in cupcakes. We are just now getting started, but I look forward to running my own cupcake shop with my mom called Mum's Cupcakes. My husband, who is from Scotland helped us with the name. We will be going to local farmers markets and things like that to spread our name and help the business grow. This is something I am super excited about and can't wait to start this journey with my mom by my side! :)
